The simplest way to make a gift to That Man May See is by way of check,
stock, or mutual fund. You can also give property, such as real estate
or art.

Through Your Will
A bequest is an easy way to make a meaningful gift in support of vision
research, and yet have sufficient assets to live on during your lifetime.
Sample Bequest Language
"I give to That Man May See, Inc., a California non-profit, public
benefit corporation, the sum of ($__) (the residue of my estate).
This gift shall be for the benefit of the Beckman Vision Center at the
University of California, San Francisco and shall be used for the purpose
of supporting (general research in eye diseases) or (name a specific
eye disease such as research in: Cataract, Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma,
Retinal Detachment, Corneal, etc.).
If in the judgment of the appropriate That Man May See, Inc. Board of
Directors, changed circumstances should at some future time render the
designated use of this bequest no longer appropriate, I direct that
this bequest be used to further the general objectives and purposes
of the Beckman Vision Center, keeping in mind my special interest in
___________."

Planned Gifts
A planned gift can, as part of thoughtful financial planning, allow individuals
to make larger charitable gifts than they thought possible.
Planned gifts, such as a gift annuity, pooled income fund, or charitable
remainder trust can be an excellent gift vehicle for individuals with
highly appreciated assets, who are also seeking greater lifetime income.

vision research.

NEW DONATION OPPORTUNITY - Transfer
Your IRA to That Man May See
For some friends of That Man May
See looking for the most tax-effective way to contribute to vision research,
your individual retirement account
(IRA) may be the best choice.
The Pension Protection Act of 2006 presents a new giving opportunity.
The law allows individuals aged 70½ or older to make gifts now
to qualified charitable organizations like ours using funds transferred
directly from their IRAs. Furthermore, these individuals will not have
to pay taxes on the amounts transferred. You can transfer any amount
you desire up to $100,000 on or before Dec. 31, 2007.
Benefits to You While Supporting Vision Research

The transfer counts toward your minimum required distribution as long
as you have not yet received your 2007 distribution.
•
The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so
you will receive the benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions.
