Vision Giving Opportunities

Your gift to TMMS may be used in one of the following ways


- Unrestricted Support for Research Opportunities
- Directed Towards a Vision Disease
- Establish a Vision Research Fund
- Endow a Gift in Perpetuity
- Named in Your Honor

You can help to promote development of better treatment and cures for blinding diseases by supporting That Man May See, Inc. yourself, and by involving others.


Unrestricted Support for Research Opportunities

Unrestricted funds are used by the Chairman of the Department where the needs are greatest.

Because of their flexibility, unrestricted funds often provide substantial support beyond their actual dollar value.

Gifts in memory or honor of someone are often unrestricted.

Directed Towards a Vision Disease

You can designate your gift for vision research to any of the eight disease areas listed below. The Beckman Vision Center does active research in these diseases:



- Retinal/Macular Degeneration
- Corneal Disease
- Glaucoma
- Blindness in Children
- Ocular Oncology (Eye Tumors)
- Neurological Eye Disease
- Cataracts
- Ocular Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

Establish a Vision Research Fund

You can provide essential support for a promising research project. A variety of specific eye disease research projects at the Beckman Vision Center could benefit from your additional support. Multi-year support can often ensure effective progress.

A gift of $5,000 or more will establish a Named Research Fund.

Endow a Gift in Perpetuity

You can make a significant gift that supports vision research on an ongoing basis, by establishing a Vision Endowment Fund at UCSF.

A Named Endowment can be established for $50,000.

Endowments can be established for:



- Research Funds
- Education Funds
- Distinguished Professorships
- Faculty Chairs
- Visiting Professorships and Lectureships
- Scholarship Funds
